Our researches are centered around two main questions: what is the role of imagery in the different forms of placebo effect, and how can the patients’ imagery be involved in the medical treatments as a therapeutic tool? A further issue related to our area of interest is the question of whether certain somatosensory illusions can have clinically relevant applications. Currently, we use the so-called Rubber Hand Illusion (RHI) paradigm in order to test the impact of illusionary body perceptions on the subject’s pain experiences.
